FAQ’s

Below is a list of common patient questions and answers. We hope you find our responses to be helpful. Please feel free to phone or email us with any other questions you have, or schedule a time to tour our office and meet us. Best wishes in health and wellness!

  1. Are my old dental fillings safe?

Maybe not. Read the linked article titled “Dental Fillings May Not Be Safe”, from Rochester’s Democrat and Chronicle.

  2. What are my options to reduce pain and/or anxiety?

At Comfort Care Dental Group we always strive to make dentistry as relaxed and painless as possible. We use Profound Gel, a strong topical anesthetic rubbed into your gums, which gives a feeling of numbness before an anesthetic injection. It takes the “pinch” out of the picture! We also offer conscious sedation to make you feel less stress during your appointment. We encourage our patients to bring their own IPOD or MP3 players to listen to their favorite music, or you can always use ours!

  3. How considerate are you of my time?

At Comfort Care Dental we are not the “hurry up and wait” dental office. We schedule appointments so each patient gets the time and attention they deserve, but without excessive waiting. Emergencies sometimes do arise and if we should run behind schedule, we will call you and let you know so you can make a decision about your time. As a courtesy, we also call every patient 48 hours in advance to confirm their appointments.

  4. Do you accept dental insurance?

We welcome all dental insurance. In most cases we can submit your dental claim and estimate your copays in minutes. We are participating providers in CIGNA, Delta Dental, MetLife, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Guardian, and United Concordia plans.

  5. What option do I have to finance my treatment?

We offer Care Credit, a medical financing option that allows us to provide payments that are affordable and without outrageous finance charges.

  6. What if I have a dental emergency after the office is closed?

We are only a phone call away. One of our own dentists is always on call for emergencies.

  7. Are all of my treatment options explained to me so I have a choice?

Dr. Carroll believes that a good part of caring for patients is done by educating them. From presenting alternative treatment options to giving accurate estimates of fees, our dental practice will always take the time to assure that your questions and concerns are addressed.

  8. How up to date is your office environment and Dentistry technology?

Our office is state-of-the-art with cameras and computers in every room. We are OSHA compliant in all our sterilization procedures and we use Digital X-rays to give you the lowest dose of x-ray exposure possible. Our entire staff is dedicated to continuing education to provide you with the most current, quality dentistry available. Our doctors attend many educational courses each year on a broad list of topics.

  9. What have others said about your work and can I speak with them?

We have numerous patients that have been with us for many years. One of the greatest compliments we receive is that many current patients refer family members and friends to our practice. We can put you in contact with some of our existing patients if you wish. Just ask us.

  10. What are your hours and location?

We know how busy life can be, so we have hours that will accommodate any schedule. Our office is open:

    • Monday & Wednesday 7:30 am – 5:00 pm
    • Tuesday  7:30 am – 6:30 pm

We are located just off the 390 Expressway on West Henrietta Road in Brighton Campus Park. We are minutes from RlT, MCC, Marketplace Mall and the University of Rochester Medical Center / Strong Memorial Hospital.
